The Adidas Originals Superstar is arguably the label’s most exemplary sneaker. Originally released as a basketball shoe back in the late sixties, the silhouette has gone on to revolutionise the world of footwear, infiltrating sub-cultures all over the world.

Now, following Blondey McCoy’s “Starlight Blue” rework of the classic sneaker towards the backend of last year, Adidas Originals returns with an iteration that pays homage to the history of China.

Featuring a tweaked adidas Originals motif, the archetypal rubber shell toe is accompanied by an all-over oriental design that boasts Chinese symbols that read courage, fairness and wisdom — three of the values that have been cherished since ancient times.

Arriving in a fresh cream colorway, adidas’ latest rework of the Superstar sneaker is available to buy now from the atmos Tokyo webstore, retailing at ¥14,000 ($134 USD).

In other news, New Balance has given its 992 sneaker a juicy purple makeover.
