Leading on from last week’s launch of its “Gold/Cobalt” colorway, adidas Originals revisits the retro Racing 1 – this time in a “Blue/Red” iteration.

Aiming to bring back excitement to its 1970s classic, 2021 seems to be a year of channeling the progressive sneaker designs of its archives. Inspired by aspects of Formula 1, the extended heel bears resemblance to car spoilers whilst the grips on its jet black sole unit wrapping around the bottom, mirrors tire-markings.

Keeping in line with its running history, the chiseled white midsole softens each step. Sitting atop, the blue suede overlays blend with its nylon mesh upper counterpart and boast adidas’ signature three-stripes in red leather. Red eyelets contrast with the blue tire-esque textured tongue alongside the iconic trefoil logo also plastered on the heel.

The adidas Originals Racing 1 will be available from authorized retailers including Foot District priced at €110 EUR (approximately $133 USD).

Check out adidas’ bright “Frozen Lemonade” ZX 8000 set to release later this week.
