YG Returns With New "Out on Bail" Music Video
Revealing his new album ‘MY LIFE 4HUNNID’ is heavily inspired by 2Pac.
YG‘s next album MY LIFE 4HUNNID is set to release October 2 via Def Jam Recordings. Today he launches his latest single and music video titled “Out on Bail” — a track heavily influenced by the career of 2Pac. The visual features YG on the run being chased by numerous cop cars while he speeds off in a red Ferrari.
“Out on Bail” follows two other releases ahead of his album launch. The rapper tapped Day Sulan for his “Equinox” music video and dropped “Swag” alongside a music video dedicated to Colin Kaepernick. The video releases eight months after YG was arrested on robbery charges, just days before he was slated to perform a Nipsey Hussle tribute at the GRAMMYs.
YG told Zane Lowe about how 2Pac inspired the album in a recent interview on Apple Music. “He went through a lot of the stuff that I’m dealing with right now, and he was making records about it, and just the tone and the cadence of how he was coming up. So that’s a fact, that’s a fun fact.” This inspiration pushed YG to work with artists who were also inspired by 2Pac. “So I went and got Lil Wayne to sing with me on a song… I think it’s a song that everybody’s going to love because it sounds like it’s some street sh*t but Lil Wayne shot it like the 2008 way, you know what I’m saying? 2007, 2006. He sounds like that. So we all look out for that. That song is called ‘Blood Walk.’ It featured Lil Wayne and my artist D3, but it’s fire though.”
