Nike‘s futuristic-looking Zoom Double Stacked sneaker has appeared in signature colorways including “Barely Volt” and “Black/Volt,” and now the silhouette has appeared in another must-have colorway, “Summit White.”
Although the Zoom Double Stacked may look like a high-concept, avant-garde runner, the technology packed into its sole unit is nothing short of impressive. The sole unit is split into two TPU plates — a bottom for the grippy outsole, and a middle section that splits the midsole into two. Situated inbetween the plates, top and bottom, are two clear Air Zoom pods with blue-colored fibers running through them. Two additional Air Zoom pockets are placed side-by-side at the forefoot, which comes together to give the shoe four areas of pressure point support, adding a spring to your step as you run.
Each pod is finished with technical text that denotes how they have been strategically placed in the heel or forefoot, and all four can be seen through the semi-translucent outsole.
The upper is far more minimal and stripped back, featuring a forefoot and mid-section made from mesh and a rear-quarter to the heel section made from leather. A TPU swoosh adorns the mesh upper and wraps around the toe, while a smaller swoosh has been embroidered into the leather towards the mid-panel. At the rear, you’ll find more swoosh embroidery alongside a pull tab on each foot.
Nike’s Zoom Double Stacked in “Summit White” is releasing on Nike’s website on September 11 and will retail for $230 USD. Take a closer look at the model above.
