Addressing the succession at Fendi following the abrupt passing of Karl Lagerfeld, Kim Jones has been appointed as the new Artistic Director of Fendi Women’s. The British designer will serve as the Artistic Director of haute couture, ready-to-wear and fur collections for women at the Italian fashion house. Welcomed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the third generation of the Fendi family will continue at the helm of Fendi’s accessories and menswear collections.

It is important to note that Kim Jones will maintain his role as the Artistic Director of Dior Men. The first Fendi ready-to-wear collection from Kim Jones will be for the Fall/Winter 2021 season and displayed during Milan Fashion Week this February.

Catch statements from Kim Jones, Silvia Venturini Fendi and LVMH chairman and chief executive, Bernard Arnault, regarding the appointment below.

Kim Jones stated, “I would like to profoundly thank Monsieur Arnault, Pietro Beccari, Serge Brunschwig and Silvia Venturini Fendi for this incredible opportunity. Working across two such prestigious houses is a true honor as a designer and to be able to join the house of Fendi as well as continuing my work at Dior Men’s is a huge privilege.”

Silvia Venturini Fendi stated, “My warmest welcome to Kim, to whom I am bound by deep respect and friendship. I am looking forward to take the Fendi universe to the next level with him.”

Bernard Arnault welcomed the appointment saying, “Kim Jones is a great talent and since joining, he has continuously proven his ability to adapt to the codes and heritage of the LVMH houses while revisiting them with great modernity and audacity. At Fendi, I am convinced that his vision and passion will highly contribute to the success of the women’s collections.”
