Gorillaz Announces Collab With The Cure Frontman Robert Smith
A new entry in the virtual band’s episodic ‘Song Machine’ series.
The Gorillaz have revealed the next installment in their Song Machine series, announcing a collaborative joint with The Cure singer and guitarist, Robert Smith.
The virtual band unveiled the single art on social media, which sees them dawning full astronaut suits in outer space while Smith’s face is plastered against a rectangular black backdrop just behind them. A release date and teaser, however, were not shared.
The upcoming cut marks the sixth entry in the episodic Song Machine series which has already heard Gorillaz team up with ScHoolboy Q on “PAC-MAN,” Octavian on “Friday 13th,” Peter Hook and Georgia on “Aries,” slowthai and Slaves for “Momentary Bliss” and Fatoumata Diawara in “Désolé.”
