For those looking for an extra sugar boost in your mornings, Reese’s has now come to the rescue. The confectionery brand is now expanding on its breakfast offerings — which include its popular Reese’s Puffs cereal — with a new Snack Cake. Its anatomy is simple and reminiscent of the company’s flagship Peanut Butter Cups: a chocolate shell wrapped around atop peanut butter layer, which sits on top of a chocolate cake base.
“We wanted to create the perfect treat for Reese’s fans to satisfy that mid-morning sweet tooth,” said Mike Orr, a brand manager of grocery and snack brands at Hershey. “We know that sometimes you just don’t want to wait until lunch.” Orr is definitely onto something, as the idea of having something sweet for breakfast has been quite popular in recent months, probably due to people spending more time working from home. According to CNN, new research from SightX indicates that 83 percent of adults in the U.S. have eaten dessert before mid-day over the past month.
If you’re interested in grabbing these Reese’s Snack Cakes for breakfast routine, they’ll arrive some time in December, with a two-cake package going for $2 USD.
