Capolow Premieres New "Presidential" Single and Music Video
The Bay Area rapper’s new ‘Kid Next Door’ project drops October 9.
Rising East Oakland rapper Capolow is putting together quite the solid campaign this year with a number of noteworthy projects steadily gaining momentum. Last week’s joint effort with Kamaiyah, Oakland Nights, was more than just a love letter to the two emcee’s native Bay Area, but it also showcased Capolow’s infectious chemistry and ability to experiment with melodies. His Room 304 effort from earlier this year tapped consistent collaborators like Guapdad 4000, ALLBLACK and Yungeen Ace and furthered that regional sound.
Today Capolow returns to premiere his new “Presidential” track with HYPEBEAST featuring production by P-Lo and a celebratory music video under the California sun. Directed by CatchRec, the visual follows the rapper through trips to the car wash, hanging out in stretch limousines and popping bottles. He does have a lot to celebrate — his upcoming album Kid Next Door drops October 9 via Cinematic Music Group and is available for pre-order today.
“After we drop Kid Next Door next month, that’ll be my third project this year including the tape with Kamaiyah. I really wanted to flood the streets this year and outwork everyone and [Jonny] Shipes felt the same. Now it’s time to run it up,” Capolow told HYPEBEAST. “We made ‘Presidential’ in like an hour. I was writing to the beat while P-Lo was making it. That sh*t happened so fast. Now that we are here… you think someone at HYPEBEAST can let Mulatto know I’m single?”
