Skate Shoe Reviewer Christian Flores Wear Tests CARIUMA's New CATIBA PRO For The Berrics
See how the Brazilian footwear company’s first piece of skate-specific footwear holds up over the course of a rigorous session.
Brazilian footwear brand CARIUMA has entered the skate market with the new CATIBA PRO, and noted skate shoe reviewer Christian Flores has taken it for a spin in a new video for The Berrics. In the past, Flores has reviewed everything from Vans’ Kyle Walker Pro 2 to adidas Skateboarding’s 3ST.004 — and frequently makes it clear that he’s not sponsored by any skateboard footwear company — so he’s able to provide comparative, unbiased performance feedback.
Flores notes that he skated in the CATIBA PRO for two days, and says upon first impression that it fits true to size. He also mentions that he didn’t have to adjust the way he flicks his feet for flatground tricks, and that the midsole’s “flick point” is responsive right out of the box. Durability and traction is lauded as well. Moving to his second session, Flores notes that he tried unsuccessfully to kickflip a gap multiple times — and although the impact protection under the shoe’s heel was proper, he wished for a little more under the ball of the forefoot. The review is finished by Flores stating that he thinks the shoes are “worth a try,” and hoping for more bright colorways in the future.
