Bitmap Books To Release 372-Page Tome on Game Boy Box Art
Chronicling an expansive range of retro titles.
Bitmap Books is gearing up to release Game Boy: The Box Art Collection, a 372-page tome that covers a myriad of Game Boy box art. Each page includes a detailed review of a game’s box and cartridge artwork, alongside small in-game screenshots.
Bitmap Books worked with collectors around the world to put together a balanced mix between titles from both the East and West, where the artwork for titles changed based on regions. Games like Metroid II: The Return of Samus and Gargoyle’s Quest are but a few titles chronicled in the expansive book. Beyond the book’s standard edition, the publication also made collector’s editions: Silver, limited to 1,500 copies; Gold, 500. The limited-edition books come with a postcard, poster and card box emblazoned with art by Wil Overton.
Game Boy: The Box Art Collection will be available for pre-order on September 28 on Bitmap Books’ website for approximately $40 USD.
