In stark contrast to its bold, Ghana-inspired summer collections, German label A Kind of Guise returns for Fall/Winter 2020 with a knitwear-heavy, more traditional offering. Combining workwear silhouettes and detailing with cosy flannels and classic patterns, FW20 draws on inspiration from Irish craftsmanship.

Based on the shores of Dublin Bay, the merchant company Global Odyssey Ltd has been trading around the world for centuries. Today they continue to cater the continents with the finest Irish products: the soft wool, irish whiskey and array of seafood, in exchange for exotic spices, precious metals and other desirables.

Throughout its endeavours the merchant company has undergone many a treacherous journey through rough seas and marshlands, and it’s out of respect and admiration for such voyages, and the garments crafted and worn, that A Kind of Guise takes its influence for this collection.

Stand-out pieces include the Avalon Jacket, a quilted woolen jacket that arrives in “Porcelain White”, “Burned Red”, “Smoke Green” and “Black Navy”, alongside a selection of outerwear, cardigans, pants, sweaters and accessories.

A Kind of Guise’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection is available now from their online webstore.
