Paterson and DC Shoes Debut '90s-Inspired Collaboration
A mashup of tennis and skateboarding influences.

New Jersey-based lifestyle brand Paterson has debuted a new collaboration with DC shoes, paying homage to heritage and cross-cultural diversity. The collaboration is an ode to ’90s tennis and skating — two unlikely influences that are both beloved by Paterson founder and East Coast skateboarding legend German Nieves. Fueled by his nostalgia, the series fuses the past and the present, utilizing the streetwear brand’s signature mash-up aesthetic to creatively blend elements of both sports into one capsule collection.
Nieves grew up skating around Paterson, New Jersey in DC Shoes, making this partnership a full circle moment. He chose to reimagine two of DC’s classic models: the iconic Lynx OG and the modern skate classic, the Kalis. The entire six-piece collection includes the sneakers in addition to athleisure apparel that hones in on the attitude of both these eras of sport through rich-jewel tones and materiality. Holistically, the combination of two distinct influences offers a refreshing take on old-school aesthetics.
The Paterson x DC Shoes collection launches tonight at 12:01AM EST Saturday, August 15th, on Paterson’s website and at select retailers worldwide.
