Last month, ASICS released a new collaborative project with London-based label AFFIX, dropping two takes on the performance-inspired NOVABLAST SPS. The brand is continuing to release new colorways of the ASICS model under their SportStyle category, aimed at the consumers who don’t want to give up on style whilst retaining all performance benefits.
The brand’s most recent campaign for the NOVABLAST SPS features Anthony Shirley, co-founder and creative director of Really Exciting Digital Agency (RED) as well as clothing maker at Visceral. The shoot shows Anthony exerting bursts of energy around his home whilst wearing the new NOVABLAST colorways.
When discussing sports and how physical activity helps him keep mental balance, Anthony says that “keeping active plays an instrumental role in my health and mental clarity. It fills me the positive energy and focus which enables me to express myself creatively in the best possible capacity.”
Having the right gear is especially important for him, says Anthony: “I like to wear light-weight, technical & breathable fabrics; supportive and responsive footwear. Products with these characteristics give me the foundation on my active quests and workouts”. A shoe’s style and visual appearance is also a significant factor for him, believing that “the aesthetic quality of a product is integral to its usefulness because great products we use every day affect our person and our well-being.”
