Layering the MM6 Maison Margiela x The North Face FW20 Collection
A conceptual and playful take on TNF’s technical outerwear.
We now take a closer look at the MM6 Maison Margiela and The North Face Fall/Winter 2020 collaborative collection. Unveiled earlier this year at London Fashion Week, the collection sees a number of outwear pieces mixed wtih cold weather accessories. The overall collection asks to be layered and opens up possibilities with its unisex cutting.
In our styled takes, we highlight some of the main pieces in the collection like the Mountain Circle Coat, the Nuptse Circle Padded Down Jacket, Circle Denali Fleece, Nuptse Scarf, Tabi Expedition Gloves, Circle Base Camp Backpack, and Circle Clutch. The collaborative collection brings back the 1990 Expedition System which was a revolutionary modular system of layered pieces designed to be detachable — the result is a customized, colorblocked appearance using TNF’s signature colors. Where The North Face offers its technical expertise for outerwear, the Maison lends its conceptual prowess and playfulness.
