Official Look at the Oregon Ducks-Inspired Air Jordan 5 "Apple Green"

Also known as the “Oregon” or “Inspire,” the “Apple Green” draws from a 2014 Oregon Ducks Air Jordan 5 PE.

As part of its Fall 2020 lineup, Jordan Brand has readied the ever-popular Air Jordan 5 in a new “Apple Green” colorway. Though “Apple Green” may be the shoe’s official moniker, many fans are calling it the “Oregon” due to its direct resemblance of an Oregon Ducks Air Jordan 5 PE from 2014 or the “Inspire” thanks to its large heel patch, an embellishment introduced on 2018’s Michigan Wolverines-colored Air Jordan 5 “Inspire.”

Uppers are made of a vibrant “Apple Green” nubuck that’s sure to strike a chord with any die-hard Ducks fan. Large varsity-style black, red and gray heel patches spell out Jordan Brand’s famous “Quality Inspired By the Greatest Player Ever” tagline, while textured inner tongues add a recognizable “Inspire” tag. Remaining upper accents — namely the throat, eyestays, tongue, lace lock and signature midfoot mesh panel — are dressed in a striking matte black.

Down below, black midsoles offer a dash of vibrance with spiked yellow hits towards the forefoot and cushioning with the heel’s Air unit. Icy outsoles with a Jumpman logo under the forefoot complete the look. The main differences between the “Apple Green” and its PE predecessor are the heel graphic and tongue branding: on the original 2014 iteration, both featured Oregon-centric details.

The Air Jordan 5 “Apple Green” is set to release via Nike SNKRS and retailers like Foot Locker come September 12. The MSRP is set at $225 USD.

Elsewhere in the world of unreleased Air Jordans, Instagram sensation Burberry.Erry took to the skatepark in an unreleased Off-White™ x Air Jordan 4 “Bred” for his latest skate clip.
