The collaboration comprises Bang & Olufsen’s recently-released Beoplay E8 Sport Edition wireless earbuds and the Beosound Edge home speaker, with both sporting a reworked design inspired by Alonso’s racing background.
First is the limited-to-14 Beosound Edge. Only this amount will be produced because 14 is Alonso’s lucky number and the number of his Formula 1 car. The speaker features a brushed metal perimeter and a matte black fabric cover, with both components now sporting Alonso’s logo on them. Bang & Olufsen’s Beosound Edge can be placed on the floor as a centerpiece of the room, or it can be suspended from the wall like a gravity-defying piece of art.
Joining the home speaker is a pair of Beoplay E8 Sport Edition wireless earbuds, which are limited to just 66 units in honor of Alonso’s Arrow McLaren SP racecar number in the Indy 500 this year. The earphones are served in a slick black hue and sport a green anodized aluminum ring around the edge, outlining Alonso and Bang & Olufsen’s logos.
The Fernando Alonso x Bang & Olufsen Beosound Edge will retail for £3,200 GBP (approx.$4,200 USD), while the Beoplay E8 Sport Edition wireless earbuds will cost just £350 GBP (approx. $460 USD). Both are slated to release this September at Bang & Olufsen stores and online.
