Vinyl, CD and cassette players combine with a smartphone slot in a gallery-like modular setup.
Summary
Trettitre’s Retro system combines vinyl, CD and cassette players on a magnetic wall rack.
Each player blends nostalgic physical controls with modern Bluetooth connectivity.
The $529 USD system follows a Kickstarter campaign backed by over 5,300 supporters.
Trettitre is bringing physical music formats back into view with its new Retro Wall-Mounted Ambient Audio System, a modular setup that turns vinyl, CDs and cassettes into part of the room rather than equipment to be hidden away.
Built around the idea that each generation formed a different relationship with recorded music, the system brings together the TTT-LP3 vinyl player, TTT-DP3 CD player and TTT-CP3 cassette player alongside a dedicated smartphone slot for streaming. All three players attach magnetically to the TTT-W wall rack, creating a clean, gallery-like composition that spans several decades of listening culture.
Each component interprets its respective format through a different retro-futurist lens while sharing a common mix of geometric forms, plastic and metal construction. The LP3 can be mounted vertically or horizontally, pairing an Audio-Technica cartridge with a self-balancing tonearm that automatically manages tracking pressure, while a diffused rear light panel allows the player to double as ambient illumination. Its wireless charging connection with the rack also keeps visible cabling to a minimum.
The circular DP3, meanwhile, takes inspiration from the UFO imagery associated with 1990s and early-2000s pop culture, using a transparent magnetic cover to keep the spinning disc visible alongside raised tactile controls and a compact OLED screen. The CP3 takes a more utilitarian route, retaining the chunky mechanical buttons associated with traditional cassette players while adding Bluetooth connectivity. All three units are battery-powered and can be removed from the rack for use elsewhere in the room, extending the system beyond its wall-mounted presentation.
The project also reflects a broader shift in Trettitre’s design language from simply referencing vintage audio equipment to rethinking how those formats can function within contemporary interiors. Wireless connectivity sits alongside deliberately analog interactions – lowering a stylus, inserting a disc or physically pressing a cassette key – allowing the system to retain the rituals associated with each medium without recreating vintage hardware wholesale.
Following a Kickstarter campaign that drew more than 5,300 supporters and over $2.2 million USD in pledges, Trettitre has now begun shipping the system to backers. The complete Retro Wall-Mounted Ambient Audio System, comprising the vinyl, CD and cassette players with the modular wall rack, is also available through Trettitre for $529 USD.
