Atlanta Natives Deante' Hitchcock and JID Connect for "I Got Money Now" Video
The track’s fun-filled clip shows Hitchcock scamming his way to the top as a mailman, televangelist and more.
Ahead of his RCA Records debut album Better, Deante’ Hitchcock has teamed up with fellow East Atlanta native JID for “I Got Money Now,” a humorous ode to the come-up. After teaming up with Young Nudy for “Attitude” and Guapdad 4000 for “Orgasm Full of Pain,” Hitchcock’s latest effort sees him continue the momentum garnered from his appearance on Dreamville‘s Revenge of the Dreamers III. With an instrumental sampling Minnie Riperton’s seminal “Loving You” and nearly two and a half minutes of braggadocios bars, the track is a fun-filled romp through the “life” of the rising rap star.
Accompanying visuals show Hitchcock as a postal worker, delivering a super-sized stimulus check to a resident of a quaint suburban neighborhood. However, this is a mere hoax: while he distracts the home’s residents, his friends run out the back door with their goods. That’s far from the only scam present: Hitchcock also masquerades as a televangelist and fakes an injury to receive a settlement. Although JID is present on the track, he’s not in the video — potentially due to complications caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus.
