GrowthRing & Supply References Hong Kong Tattoos in "Project Rising" Bowling Shirts
Featuring the “Descending Tiger” and the “Double Dragon.”
Hong Kong’s GrowthRing & Supply has just announced an upcoming new project titled “Project Rising.” Set as “Drop 01,” the first launch of products arrives in the form of two bowling shirts.
The two button-ups continue the brand’s devotion to the city of Hong Kong as they reference another one of the prevailing aspects of the glory years of the city — underground tattoo culture. The project is an initiative to motivate to Hog Kong community in remembering the city’s rich history by taking a look at various cultural facets in product form; Project Rising’s slogan is “TOGETHER WE WILL RISE AGAIN.”
Both shirts feature hand-illustrated graphics of two prevalent symbols in traditional tattoo culture: the dragon and the tiger. Made from silk, each shirt is lightweight for summertime wear and has a slight sheen offered by its traditional weave. Those interested can find the two shirts dropping over on GrowthRing & Supply‘s shop on August 17 for a price of $1,680 HKD (approximately $216 USD).
