Barack Obama Adds Frank Ocean, Outkast, J. Cole and More to Summer 2020 Playlist
A refined selection of fresh releases and classic cuts.
Former U.S. President Barack Obama has unveiled his annual Summer playlist, sharing a refined selection of both new and classic tracks he’s been listening to during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family,” he wrote on Twitter, uploading the the 53-track playlist. “I wanted to share some of my favorites from the summer — including songs from some of the artists at this week’s @DemConvention.”
For his Summer 2020 selection, Obama included fresh releases such as Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé’s “Savage (Remix),” Teyana Taylor‘s “Made It,” HAIM‘s “The Steps,” Princess Nokia‘s “Gemini,” Summer Walker‘s “My Affection” with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Childish Gambino‘s “12.38,” J. Cole’s “The Climb Back,” the late Mac Miller‘s “Blue World,” Anderson .Paak’s “Lockdown,” Frank Ocean’s “Cayendo” and Lil Mosey and Lil Baby‘s “Back At It.” He pairs the new tracks with a number of classic cuts, including D’Angelo‘s “Higher,” Nas‘ “Memory Lane (Sittin’ in da Park),” OutKast and CeeLo Green’s “Liberation,” Billie Holiday’s “I’ll Be Seeing You,” Otis Redding’s “These Arms of Mine,” War’s “All Day Music” and Bob Dylan‘s “Goodbye Jimmy Reed.”
