'Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time' Release Date Announced
A hack and slash experience created by Adult Swim Games.
Earlier this year, Adult Swim Games revealed that it was working on a game revolving around one of our childhoods’ most admirable heroes — Samurai Jack — and now the game has finally received an official release date.
Arriving August 21, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is a third-person hack and slash game following the titular hero as he fights through time to defeat Aku and his evil army. The title is written by the original show’s head writer Darrick Bachman himself and draws from an “untold Samurai Jack adventure that ties into the epic series finale,” featuring some of the hero’s greatest allies including The Scotsman, Scaramouche and Sir Rothchild.
For those looking to learn more about the upcoming game, Adult Swim Con will be hosting a Samurai Jack Showcase on Friday, July 24. Aside from the show’s original creator Genndy Tartakovsky, Bachman and Aku’s voice actor Greg Baldwin will also be on the panel, as well as a series of the game’s developers from Adult Swim Games. The stream itself, which is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. EDT, will also show unreleased footage of the game’s development and gameplay of various levels.
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on August 21, retailing for $40 USD.
In other gaming news, EA Sports has released the first gameplay trailer for UFC 4.
