In this installment of A Closer Look, we delve into the upcoming Stüssy x Nike capsule. The sportswear infused casual collection hits the nail on the head with its “Douglas Firs to Palm Trees” collection slogan.
While the sports capsule holds on to its performance-driven tendencies afforded by Beaverton — as seen in the technical shorts, Windrunner jacket, and vibrant retro-inspired running graphics — Stüssy stand firm in adding its savoir-faire in beach/surfwear in the form of vibrant hues, the all-too comfy co-branded Benassi Slides, a bucket hat and its unambivalent “International Beach Crew” tee.
Of course, the main component of this joint venture is again the footwear. The two continue with the familiar Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 silhouette but add a slight twist via the fusing of the Air Kukini with its rubber support cage. This footwear model oozes the 2000s and is available in either a “Bright Cactus” or “Habanero Red” colorway.
