Kosuke Kawamura Taps BLACK SMOKER RECORDS for Art Exhibition
Held at BEAMS T in Harajuku.

Artist Kosuke Kawamura has teamed up with music label BLACK SMOKER RECORDS for an art show to be held at BEAMS T in Harajuku, Tokyo. The exhibition will include a series of garments printed with the artist’s distinctive renderings.
Featured is a set of monochromatic T-shirts and hoodies, emblazoned with Kawamura’s signature collages. One highlight in the range is a graphic tee that’s been stamped with an arched “THINK TANK” logo across the chest, the name of a Japanese underground hip-hop group that’s signed to BLACK SMOKER RECORDS. The font is modeled after Thrasher‘s logo, decorated with a sporadic digital pattern that pops from the garment’s black and white cotton bases. Other noteworthy garments like the T-shirt with a graphic of a shredded American dollar bill and the black hoodie with a colorful collage print round off the artful assemblage.
Kosuke Kawamura and BLACK SMOKER RECORDS’ capsule will be available on July 31 at an art show held at BEAMS T as well as on BEAMS’ website — prices have yet to be confirmed.
