KITH Readies Team USA Olympic Tracksuit Capsule
White and black tracksuits with matching hats, originally slated to debut during the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Following a surprise announcement from Ronnie Fieg earlier in the week, KITH has officially readied its Team USA tracksuit capsule. According to Fieg, KITH had become an official partner of Team USA earlier in the year, and planned to debut a full collection at its new Tokyo flagship to coincide with the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. However, with the Games being pushed to 2021 due to the dangers posed by the COVID-19 coronavirus, Fieg and KITH have decided to “give the people a preview of what’s to come next year” with this six-piece capsule.
Inspired by memorable Team USA silhouettes reimagined through the KITH lens, the capsule’s nylon jackets are done up in white or black. Tops feature a quarter zip construction with an anorak-style pocket in the front and a KITH box logo directly under the zip closure. When zipped down, the high-cut collar reveals an American flag print on its liner. A red, white and blue striped detail graces the left sleeve, while American flag and Olympic ring graphics appear on the back.
Pants are made of the same nylon material as the jackets, and match the red/white/blue stripe on the jacket’s left sleeve with an identical accent on their left leg. The same embellishment from the jacket’s rear is present under the pocket on the right leg. Finally, dad-style hats place “USA” above the Olympic rings logo, and add one last KITH hit besides their strap closure.
The KITH x Team USA tracksuit capsule will release on July 24 at 11 A.M. EST via select KITH retail locations and the KITH webstore. Jackets are priced at $195 USD, pants at $175 USD and hats at $65 USD.
