First up is the Swatch Sistem51 HODINKEE Summer Edition, which takes the overall design of the Generation 1986 — released earlier last year — and gives it a touch of breeziness with a white-out aesthetic. Boasting a minimalist design, the watch is entirely white from rubber strap to case to dial, while dashes of color come in the form of deep blue indexes at 12, 3, and 9 o’clock. The rest of the indexes are painted in a contrasting black, with a date window taking up the 6 o’clock position. The baton-styled hands also retain the same minimalist form, with lumed tips, and paired with a light blue seconds hand as a black seconds track runs on the outer rim of the dial.
Paired with the Sistem51 is a Swatch’s subsidiary company Flik Flak, specialized in designing timepieces for the youth. Keeping in line with the design sensibilities of the Sistem51, the most of the watch has been given a white makeover, covering both the case and the dial, and even extending to the strap’s buckle. The dial itself also retains much of the color scheme from its larger counterpart, with black Roman numeral indexes paired with color-coded hour, minute, and seconds hands in navy, black, and light blue respectively.
For those interested, both watches are now available over on HODINKEE’s online shop, retailing at $170 for the Sistem51 and $40 USD for the Flik Flak.
Elsewhere in watches, 777 has crafted a rose gold, diamond-encrusted Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Skeleton.
