Gucci Releases Limited-Edition Grip Watch in Stealthy Gunmetal Gray Hue
A more subtle nod the ’70s.

Gucci has released a gunmetal gray version of its Grip watch; the first-ever timepiece to be produced by Alessandro Michele for the house.
The name, “Grip,” references both the watch’s snug fit against the wrist, as well as skateboarding culture. It draws direct influence from skateboards, too, as the logo-engraved face of this gray Grip watch is designed to mimic the adhesive tape found on boards.
Gucci has engraved its signature “GG” logo into the face, which sits alongside three windows that read the hour, minute and date. The “GG” etching continues all around the band, and can even be found on the back of the watch’s case.
Rounding out the new Gucci Grip is its packaging, which is exclusively designed for this limited-edition gunmetal gray iteration. The box features an embroidered floral panel on the front, which opens up to present the ’70s-inspired timepiece on an emerald green velour cushion.
