Kappa Japan has teamed up with Kazuki Kuraishi‘s A.FOUR LABS and London-based artist Will Sweeny for a vibrant Spring/Summer 2020 capsule. This follows last year’s collaboration between Kappa, A.FOUR LABS and P.A.M. on a heavily layered FW19 range.
Dubbed “INTERPLANETARY FITNESS PROGRAM,” the capsule spans a series of light coats, long-sleeves, pants, anoraks, shorts, hats and T-shirts, imbued in soft, creamy earth-tones accompanied by intricate graphics from Will Sweeny. One noteworthy piece is an oversized parka that comes with an asymmetrical color scheme. A large light-blue panel appears on the front right half of the piece, complemented by a gray panel on the left half. The jacket boasts a fitted storm hood, raised collars and dropped shoulders, while a wide ripstop strap marked with “Kappa” branding runs across the center of the upper back.
Another highlight is a brown anorak that’s been embellished with the aforementioned ripstop. The pullover garment sees a baggy half-zip construction with a sleek pouch flap at the bottom half of the piece. Additional details like a light blue panel at the center of the hood and adjustable drawstrings complete the piece’s design. Other garments like the nylon running cap, graphic long-sleeve and cropped shorts round up the concise assemblage.
A.FOUR Labs x Will Sweeny x Kappa Japan’s Spring/Summer 2020 capsule will be available on June 27 at Kappa Japan’s physical PHENIX CREATIVE SELECT STORE, ranging from $75 – $392 USD.
