Riot Games Announces 'Valorant' Ignition Series Global Esports Tournament
Partnering with more than 20 esports organizations worldwide.

After rapidly becoming one of the most popular games out now, Riot Games has now announced the “Ignition Series” for Valorant. Serving as the developer’s first step in establishing an esport element for the 5v5 character-based tactical shooter.
To produce the Ignition Series, Riot has partnered with more than 20 esports organizations to create competitive events around the world. Local organizers will help host events with variations that include competitive open qualifiers, show matches, and invitationals with top players, established personalities, and aspiring amateurs.
The global tournament kicks off June 19 with the European G2 Esports Invitational, presented by Red Bull, and the RAGE VALORANT JAPAN Invitational. Following the inaugural invitationals, the Ignition Series will continue in North America, Brazil, Latin America, Korea, Japan, South East Asia, Oceania, Europe, Russia, Turkey, and the Middle East.
Ultimately, the ignition event will help create an organized cadence for future Valorant events and help discover talented players to build competitive legacy’s within regions. Riot Games will be providing support through multiple publishing channels, including a dedicated landing with an updated schedule, and guiding tournament organizers to provide best-in-class experiences.
