Disney+'s Trailer for 'Muppets Now' Features Guests Seth Rogan and Aubrey Plaza
The first Muppets television series since 2015.
Disney+ released a new trailer for its upcoming short-form series Muppets Now, starring trademark characters such as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear. The show will bring back the character’s classic humor alongside tons of celebrity guests like Seth Rogen and Aubrey Plaza.
The show will combine several formats, including a game show, a cooking show, and a talk show. Each segment will feature a Muppet character or two in an unscripted sketch. “From zany experiments with Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker to lifestyle tips from the fabulous Miss Piggy, each episode is packed with hilarious segments, hosted by the Muppets showcasing what the Muppets do best,” says an official press release.
The series will showcase a mixture of classic Muppets and newer ones like Pepe and Walter, who were initially introduced in 2011’s The Muppets movie. This is not the first Muppets project Disney has been working on. A Josh Gad-led musical project that took place after Muppets Take Manhattan was put on the shelf last September. Muppets Now will the first Muppets television series since 2015’s The Muppets, a mockumentary-style show which aired for one season on ABC.
