Descente is delving into the sustainability sphere with a dedicated collection that seeks to promote a circular life cycle for clothing. Dubbed RE: DESCENTE, the capsule includes three subranges — SEED, BIRTH and RENU — which are all infused with recyclable elements and processes.

The assortment is grounded in natural tones like off-white, olive and tan, and encompasses items including T-shirts, jackets, pants, vests and shorts. For the SEED range, the garments have been crafted with a biodegradable wood pulp-based material, likened to that of handmade Japenese hand-made paper called Washi. The biodegradable properties also extend to trim details, with articles like buttons and labels also employing the special capabilities.

In the RENU collection, Descente takes waste fabric from garment manufacturers, reconverts it into polyester and then makes new items. Finally, the BIRTH capsule features upcycled apparel pieces that are made by directly using the RENU fabrics.

Browse through the gallery above to see highlights from the RE: DESCENTE collection. Look out for styles to become available starting on June 19 at Descente’s webstore.
