Photographer Akasha Rabut and Sunny Tattoos Unite for 'World Peace' Capsule
“This collaboration supports the Black Lives Matter movement and anyone risking their life to amplify black voices.”

Back in March, photographer Akasha Rabut released her first book called Death Magick Abundance. In response to the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests that have followed the death of George Floyd, Rabut has partnered with Sunny Tattoos for a shirt and tote bag benefitting the Black Voters Matter Resistance Fund. All of the proceeds from the collaboration will go towards shifting resources based on urgency, while protecting voting rights and strengthening Black communities.
A design created by Rabut and Sunny Tattoos brands long sleeve shirts, T-shirts and tote bags. A chain made up of peace signs encircles the phrases “Defund, demilitarize and dismantle the badge,” “World peace,” and “In solidarity with all victims of police brutality.” A quote by Martin Luther King Jr. and a powerful image evoking support and equality are emblazoned on the back side of the shirts and bag. Rabut’s Death Magick Abundance, which documents the people and constantly shifting culture of New Orleans, is also available as part of a Black Voters Matter bundle.
“Protests are violent at times but remember how change is created historically,” Rabut states on her website. “This collaboration supports the Black Lives Matter movement and anyone risking their life to amplify black voices…We must continue to dismantle this broken and racist system together and rebuild an infrastructure that protects and cherishes black lives.”
