Following other fashion labels that are supporting the Black Lives Matter movement with the release of fundraising T-shirts, 18 East is dropping a ‘Silence is Violence’ T-shirt designed in collaboration with Saeed Ferguson’s ALLCAPSTUDIO. 100 percent of the profits will be split evenly between the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund and Covid Bail Out NYC. These two community-based organizations post bail for those without means and offer post-release support, such as transit, shelter and food assistance.

Printed on undyed cotton and hand-screened in Philadelphia, the tees boast a graphic of a group of figures holding up the world on the fronts and the phrases “Black Lives Matter” and “Silence is Violence” on the backs. “The breath that built America is being choked by the hands that brought it here,” reads a statement on the back of the shirt. “They demand we shut up and know our place, but what we allow, will continue. Breathe in. Speak up. Take action.”

The ‘Silence is Violence’ tee will be available to pre-order for $44 USD on 18 East and ALLCAPSTUDIO’s websites beginning June 10 for 72 hours only.

Elsewhere, COMME des GARÇONS CDG’s social justice charity capsule will benefit Minneapolis’ Northside Achievement Zone.
