Stay Home Snaps: Poggy
UNITED ARROWS & SONS’ creative director is still dressing up while laying low.
UNITED ARROWS & SONS and Studio 2G‘ creative director Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi is no longer hitting the streets of Tokyo in his favorite outfits but Japan’s quarantine can’t keep him from dressing up. While self-isolating at home with family, Poggy’s still dabbling in dressing up, though he’s also maximizing family time and even getting some (light) workouts in.
HYPEBEAST Japan spoke with the ever-busy creative about comfortable staple garments and the strength afforded by familiar music.
What’s your daily routine?
Every day I do light exercises like stretching and training. Also, I mop the floors (laughs). I usually work from home but when there is a need to go to the office, I go and do my work there.
Where in your home do you like to work?
If I have coffee and my laptop, I can work anywhere.
What do you wear while working from home?
I usually wear things from UNITED ARROWS & SONS by Daisuke Obana. Also, I wear my comfortable, worn-in jeans.
What are you eating now?
I eat with my family at home.
How do you stay in a good headspace while in isolation?
I feel that this isolation is a good opportunity to think about a lot of things. For instance: organizing my wardrobe and spending time with my son, things that I’m usually not able to do [as often] and I’m enjoying it. Sometimes I’ll wear a blazer to an online meeting or make a day of my own to celebrate, just to spice things up.
What are you listening to and watching?
I listen to records that I bought at this record bar called Bloody Angle. The Japanese ones from the ’70s give me energy, so I listen to them often. I watch Torakku Yarō [Truck Guys] and other movies from that era.
