New Balance has unveiled a brand new iteration of its 575 Made in UK. Following its collaboration with BILLY’s, the American footwear giant has opted for a bold colorway inspired by the streets of Tokyo’s Harajuku.

Most of the sneaker is dominated by a monochromatic color scheme, accompanied by striking red accents — representing ’60s-era black and white TVs and the sun in Japan’s national flag. Starting at the top of the shoe is a woven tongue tag etched with “TRAIL” and “575” branding, complemented by a tiny illustration of a mountainous landscape. Intricate mesh fabrics are placed throughout the uppers, covering the tongue, top quarters and toebox, complemented by white full-grain leather panels around the heel counter and eyelets. A double-stacked “N” logo is placed over bold red checkers at the sidewalls, while lush black pigskin suede appears along the heel and toecap to round up the sneaker’s dynamic textures. All of these features rest over a cushioned two-toned midsole, equipped with MEGAGRIP Vibram technology for optimal balance and support.

New Balance’s MTL575 Made in UK is currently available on New Balance’s website for $220 USD.
