Gucci Mane Continues to Connect Atlanta With New Lil Baby Collaboration "Both Sides"
From the upcoming ‘Gucci Mane Presents: So Icy Summer’ compilation out July 3.
The importance of Gucci Mane to the city of Atlanta cannot be overstated. In fact, over the past 15 years most of the city’s biggest artists have created a family tree that stemmed from Gucci’s contributions and taste-making ability. Perhaps that’s why he has another book on the way with Simon & Schuster’s The Gucci Mane Guide to Greatness motivational book coming out this October. Today Guwop connects with No. 1 Billboard artist and fellow ATL-ian Lil Baby for “Both Sides”, the first single from the forthcoming Gucci Mane Presents: So Icy Summer compilation out July 3.
The visual was directed by Joe Yung Spike and finds the rappers’ return to their hometown, rapping about the downfall of not being upfront or staying loyal to your crew. “These ni**as gone end up dead, they keep on playin’ both sides/ They gone need a lot of black suits, a bunch of bowties,” the chorus goes. This isn’t the first time that Baby and Gucci have connected for the single, as previous efforts include “The Load”, “Anyway”, and “Ice”. Production comes from Chi Chi & Rio Leyva. This track is Gucci Mane’s first commercial effort since December’s East Atlanta Santa 3.
