Statik Selektah Shares Unreleased Notorious B.I.G. Song "Bastard Child"
Pulled from Statik’s endless archives while he was “bored on a Sunday.”
It’s not every day that you wake up on a Monday morning to find new never-heard-before Notorious B.I.G. verses. Legendary producer Statik Selektah shared an archival collaboration titled “Bastard Child” featuring the iconic Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn rapper in rare form.
There’s no word on when this track was actually recorded, but the soulful sample is full of Statik’s signature bounce with vocal loops and some vintage DJ scratching. The second verse is from B.I.G.’s “Hope You N*ggas Sleep” featuring Cash Money Millionaires and previously unreleased “Dead Wrong”. This past March marked the 23rd anniversary of Biggie‘s tragic passing after falling victim to a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, California. With what would have been his 48th birthday being celebrated on May 21, perhaps there’s more unreleased tracks in-store. Only time will tell.
