After debuting Kevin Durant’s latest signature shoe, the Zoom KD 13, just yesterday, Nike has now given an in-depth look at one of the shoe’s inaugural colorways, a head-turning “Hype” iteration. Nodding towards hip-hop culture and fashion, the newly-debuted version takes note of Kevin Durant’s pump-up playlist that helps in focusing him pre-game.
Ranging from classic soul tracks to southern trap bangers, the various sounds KD listens to before the ball is tipped are aptly transmitted into the Nike Basketball sneaker. On the upper, a lavish gold chain-clad textile can be seen, whereby various butterflies are showcased in an obvious nod to KD getting rid of his nervousness before game time. An enlarged gold Swoosh can be found on the later side, which runs directly into the midsole, while on the medial a smaller gold Swoosh has been placed. At the heel, KD’s signature logo can be found, with his full name and jersey number placed on the tongue tab.
