Future Drops 'Purple Reign' Mixtape on Streaming Platforms
Four years after its first release.
Future has shared his January 2016 mixtape Purple Reign on Spotify, Apple Music and other digital streaming platforms for the first time.
The 13-track mixtape saw executive production from DJ Esco and Metro Boomin — two of Future’s most trusted confidantes — along with additional production work from the likes of Zaytoven, Southside and more. Purple Reign represented the rapper’s return to the mixtape circuit after dropping a number of major projects like DS2 and What A Time to be Alive with Drake. Future followed Purple Reign up with his next record EVOL, which became his third consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Purple Reign marks the third of Future’s previously released mixtapes to land on digital streaming platforms, following 56 Nights and Beast Mode just earlier this April.
