Black Atlass Delivers Velvety Debut Album 'Dream Awake'
The XO Records signee will join The Weeknd on his ‘After Hours’ tour later this fall.
XO Records signee Black Atlass has released his latest album, Dream Awake. The Montreal-born singer-songwriter’s latest album follows 2018’s Pain & Pleasure EP, as well as 2016’s Haunted Paradise project.
Speaking about the album, Atlass notes that “Dream Awake is a metaphor to describe the feeling of lust.” He continues, “The album is a journey about the joy and chaos two people experience in the process of coming to know one another and ultimately falling in love.”
Spanning 12 tracks that clock in at 35 minutes in length, Dream Awake is a silky entrée from the Montreal crooner, blending a variety of hazy, psychedelic production alongside his velvety delivery. Carrying much of the album himself, the features remain sparse, with Atlass only recruiting a feature from Sonia on anthemic cut “By My Side.”
You can stream Dream Awake below. Black Atlass is also set to tour alongside The Weeknd later this fall for the European leg of The After Hours Tour.
