New Trailer for 'SCOOB!' Shows the Gang Meeting Blue Falcon
Mystery loves company.
Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for its upcoming Scooby-Doo origin story SCOOB!. In the trailer above, we see the gang as children meeting for the first time and solving mysteries into their teens. However, when Shaggy and Scooby get abducted by aliens, the rest of the gang attempt to solve the mystery of their missing friends. Shaggy and Scooby, though, end up meeting their favorite superhero Blue Falcon in his space fortress. It is then that they realize a plot to unleash a ghost dog named Cerebus upon the entire world.
Although the dynamic between Shag, Scoob, Fred, Daphne, and Velma remains the same, old school viewers should expect a lot of contemporary pop culture references just from the above footage alone. Mention of Netflix, Dwayne Johnson, and Ikea are made before the trailer even ends.
Will Forte will play Shaggy, with Frank Welker retaining his voice acting role as Scooby-Doo. Jason Isaac’s will voice Dick Dastardly, Tracy Morgan will voice Captain Caveman, Zac Efron will voice Fred, Gina Rodriguez voices Velma, Amanda Seyfried is Daphne, and Mark Wahlberg plays Blue Falcon.
SCOOB! arrives in theaters May 15.
