UNIMATIC has teamed up with Massena LAB for a ’50s-inspired dive watch. Named the UNIMATIC x Massena LAB Modello Uno Ref. U1-ML6, the watch features a galvanized dial for an aged tropical look. The 40mm case houses a Seiko NH35A movement that has a power reserve of 41 hours, and is rated a depth of 300 meters.
As a nod towards WWII Royal Navy officer Alastair Robertson and the HMS Ocean aircraft carrier, the caseback bares the engraving of the Greek god, Poseidon — the same crest found on the HMS Ocean. Watch collector and founder of Massena LAB, William Massena, comments: “The goal of this collaboration was to make something that I would want to own and purchase myself. Over my years of being a member of the watch industry and a collector myself, I have come to learn what I like and what I don’t in a watch; the aesthetic and technical aspects that set watches apart from each other.”
Those interested in this timepiece can head over to Massena LAB where it is available in limited quantity (99 pieces) for a price of $850 USD.
