Raf Simons' Latest Appliqué Patch Hoodies Boast Lavish DIY Detailing
Patches, pins and graphics.

Just a few days ago, Raf Simons dropped its oversized Smiley College Sweater and T-shirt, showcasing a bold mix of well-considered construction and graphic motifs. But the eponymous label has more to show from its expansive SS20 lineup. This time around, the Raf Simons has unveiled two black Appliqué Patch Hoodies, boasting intricate DIY detailing alongside a slew of graphics.
The first piece sees a semi-boxy fit with slightly dropped shoulders. Woven at the front of the piece are set of patches that start from the collars to the hemline — each patch is emblazoned with vivid graphics that range from abstract illustrations to monochromatic star patterns. One noteworthy graphic is a black patch in the middle that reads “MY OWN PRIVATE ANTWERP,” a nod to the city Simons is based in. As a finishing touch, each patch comes with frayed edges for a rugged look and feel.
The other hoodie also comes with in oversized construction but with raglan sleeves this time. At the front, the piece sees large, pearly pins, sticking out from a stack of patches at the upper left chest. On the right sleeve, two patches are held in place by a black pin. To complete the hoodie, a massive piece covers most of the back, stretching from the shoulders to the lower torso. It sees a bright blue faded print with stark “RAF SIMONS” branding, complemented by pins on each corner of the fabric.
The Raf Simons Appliqué Patch Hoodies are currently available at MATCHESFASHION’s website — $567 USD for the first and $1,313 for the second.
