A recent entry into Nike‘s conceptual D/MS/X sub-label, the React Vision is a bold, technical lifestyle silhouette that’s now surfaced in a refreshing “Desert Oasis” colorway. With a moniker and tones inspired by the hopeful mirage of an oasis in the endless expanses of the barren badlands, the “Desert Oasis” provides an undeniably fitting look: the React Vision was originally conceptualized around dreams and mythical creatures.

Uppers are constructed from a heavily perforated tan mesh and equipped with a bronze-outlined Swoosh. Although the overall shape is unquestionably reminiscent of previous lifestyle models like the React Element 55 and React Element 87, the Vision separates itself with a heavy dose of layered detailing. Here, these stacked stylings provide a place for vivid red and cool blue hues, which are present on the abstract eyestays, blown-up heel piece and bulky, blocky plastic heel clip. Touches of burgundy are thrown in as well, with both tongue and heel tabs offering a red/blue flecked print and D/MS/X branding.

Full-length React foam midsoles take on an earthy clay color and provide technical detailing by way of cut-out shapes that grace the midfoot. These are quickly surrounded by semi-translucent pieces of icy blue rubber on the heel and toe, adding both style and substance to complete the look.

The Nike React Vision “Desert Oasis” will come into view on Nike SNKRS March 12, and is priced at $140 USD.

Moving from the desert to the mountains, check out HOKA ONE ONE‘s gargantuan TenNine, a bold trail shoe designed specifically for downhill running.
