The Final Trailer for Netflix's 'Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045' Finally Reveals Release Date
Major Kusanagi and Public Security Section 9 return.
The final trailer for Netflix‘s upcoming Ghost In The Shell SAC_2045 anime series has arrived alongside an official release date. The trailer gives us new footage we haven’t seen before, and it also showcases protagonist Major Kusanagi and her fellow officers in their new computer generated art style.
The series takes place in the year 2045 following Stand Alone Complex and after an event called Synchronized Global Default has provoked economic disaster in the world. AI technology has also become so advanced that it has sparked a war called the “Sustainable War.” As a result, a new dangerous posthuman species has surfaced, as explained in the video.
Here’s the official description for Ghost In The Shell SAC_2045 :
“Ghost in the Shell, a landmark in near-future science fiction, brings together Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki as they present their vision of the year 2045 in Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. Led by full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi, Public Security Section 9 once again gets ready to face off against cybercrime.”
Ghost In The Shell SAC_2045, directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki, will arrive on Netflix on April 23 with a 12-episode season. A second season with 12-episodes is also expected to arrive at a later date.
