Marni Releases SS20 "GOOEY" Sneakers With Dripping Paint Design
Created using a rubberized treatment for a lacquered look.

Marni has put a quirky spin on what would otherwise be simple pairs of high-top and low-top sneakers. Dubbed the GOOEY sneakers, the label has recently released a new footwear style which is aptly named for its paint drip-like aesthetic.
The sneakers are crafted of calfskin leather and made by using a special rubberized treatment. This process helps to form a lacquered surface all around the shoe, emulating the idea that the upper is melting. The drizzling effect continues onto the midsole, where a jagged line has been painted in contrasting colors to play off of the clean white foundation. Marni’s logo is featured on the heel to finish it all off.
The GOOEY sneakers first made their debut at Marni’s Spring/Summer 2020 runway show. They’re offered in a range of both neutral and bright colorways, including black, turquoise, mustard, pink and red.
Styles are available to shop now for a price of $690 USD from Marni’s webstore and select retailers such as SSENSE.
