Jadakiss and Pusha T Take Aim at "Clout" Rappers With "Huntin Season" Video
One of the many standout tracks from Jadakiss’s ‘Ignatius.’
Jadakiss and Pusha T are both the personification of longevity. Both still spry lyrically and sonically post-40-years-old, the two legendary emcees return with the new visual to “Huntin Season” from the 13-track Ignatius. The project honors Ruff Ryders A&R and producer Ignatius “Icepick Jay” Jackson and is Jada’s first effort since his 2015 LP Top 5 Dead or Alive.
The grim Trey Lyons-directed music video features both rappers in various forms of camouflage with shooters flanking both sides during the strobe-like cinematography. Jadakiss takes aim at the new generation of rappers seemingly more focused on social media clout and image than reality. Dead bodies (presumably younger musicians) litter his gaudy mansion, shotgun shells served in wine gold-trimmed wine glasses.
The two trade verses, with King Push resorting to his signature cocaine-fueled bars, “One man army like Ason/ Threw more powder in the air than LeBron/ I’m sellin’ Avon, that means the foundation is caked on.” While Jadakiss continues to run his victory lap with his new album, Pusha T recently jumpstarted his Heir Wave Music Group, dedicated to promoting upcoming talent from Virginia.
