Hajime Sorayama's "Sexy Robot" Is Now Available in Rug Form
As well as a clock.
Artist Hajime Sorayma has steadily made his mark in fashion, notably collaborating with Dior in an expansive partnership over the last year. The Japanese illustrator’s popular female robots aren’t limited to his artworks and fashion ventures, however, as Sorayma’s “Sexy Robot” figure has now made its way into the home decor world.
Medicom Toy has unveiled an upcoming floor rug and wall clock that are marked with Sorayama’s seductive bots. The rus is featured in blue for a more muted option, while the robot’s coy pose maintains the sensual mood.
The pink clock, meanwhile, offers a Marilyn Monroe-inspired take for a bolder interior choice. Clad in a skimpy yellow dress, the “Sexy Robot” is depicted with her dress blown away by the wind, recalling Monroe’s famous subway image.
Sorayama’s “Sexy Robot” rug and “Monroe” wall clock make for timely home updates as the world spends more time indoors in order to combat the coronavirus. Priced at at ¥24,000 JPY (approximately $215 USD) for the rug and ¥18,000 JPY (approx. $164 USD), the styles are set to launch beginning on March 28 at Medicom Toy’s webstore.
Elsewhere for Sorayama, the artist recently opened concurrent shows at NANZUKA and “2G” studio at Shibuya Parco.
