Just Don‘s signature elevated sportswear styling receives a slight twist for Spring/Summer 2020, as creative director Don C continues to update his line with seasonal textiles and accents. The new season yields another range of garments designed for fictional sports leagues, laden with bright warm weather prints.

Serving up special pieces intended for the Just Don Dealers, Islanders, Team X, Sound and The Jungle, Just Don SS20 encompasses a host of accessible silhouettes informed by Just Don’s premium textiles and preferred bold patterns. Woven jerseys, zippered shirts, boxing shorts and lavish caps all feature striking color-blocking and a diverse array of stylized branding, with each team represented by thematic graphics. The Jungle, for instance, enjoys multi-colored leopard print shirts, an orange tiger pullover and camouflage shorts, while the Islanders boast leather-sleeved Hawaiian shirts and varsity jackets replete with desert island imagery.

What is Just Don all about?
Just Don is a fictitious sports league — I’m designing product as if I’m designing for a sports league. We have five teams right now, where the motifs and aesthetics for each of the teams are based on the name. So Just Don Sound is music-based, Just Don Jungle is military- and animal-based graphics, and Team X is a team from the future, where we imagine what sports may look like in the future.

For instance, the boxing gear is Team X, because in the future, we imagine seeing boxing and basketball fused together, where players can fight on the court like in hockey.

Is the goal to have your own sports team, like a skate team, or be the lead designer for a major sports league?
That’s absolutely the goal. My collections are practice, and hopefully, one day, the NBA buys the Just Don league.

Because Just Don is about fusing fashion with sport, entertainment, community, music and art. That’s how I envision it because that’s how people want to consume things: everything at once.

Who do you envision wearing Just Don?
It’s for the person that appreciates fashion, style, quality, heritage, and the person that loves sports. I love all of these things, and whenever I went to sporting events, I would always feel like there isn’t any taste or style in this space, and that’s what I’m bringing bring. And now that this space has grown, and a lot of brands are contributing, I just want to keep adding to it.

And I’m about building community, especially now as I get older. I used to think sports were everything, but as we see now, the world is bigger than sport. So I want to connect on an even more humane level with Just Don, be it health and wellness, good eating, or just being kind to others.
