'A Quiet Place Part II' Featurette Explores Cillian Murphy's New Character
The ‘Peaky Blinders’ staple plays a loner named Emmett.
As the premiere of John Krasinski‘s A Quiet Place Part II draws nearer, Paramount Pictures shared a special featurette about Emmett, a new character portrayed by Peaky Blinders staple Cillian Murphy.
Taking a look at the character, Emmett seems to be the kind of survivor who opts for solitude rather than teamwork — most likely caused by losing his family to the creatures. The featurette shows Emmett meeting Evelyn Abbott (Emily Blunt) and her newborn for the first time as he, unfortunately, refuses to help the desperate mother and child. “The beauty of Cillian’s character was that there’s so much loss in his life. He doesn’t feel the need to be a part of any community,” Krasinski said. He adds, “He’s actually a representation of the rest of the world. There’s a darkness to him and there’s a fear level to him that makes him unpredictable.”
A Quiet Place Part II follows the remainder of the Abbott family as they traverse through the terrifying world of creatures, only to find out that they have other problems to deal with it. Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe reprise their roles as the family members, while Krasinski takes helm as director once again.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Christian Bale will be playing the villain in Thor: Love and Thunder.
