Netflix Announces 'Kingdom' Season 2 Release Date
The epic K-drama returns next month.
It’s been over one year since Netflix‘s hit K-Drama Kingdom aired, and now the wait for the highly-anticipated second season is winding down. Just a few hours prior, the streaming giant shared a new video announcing the premiere date for Kingdom season 2 along with an official poster.

The full cast returns in the frightening new motion teaser, where fans also get their firsthand glimpse of male lead Joo Ji Hoon, female lead Bae Doo Na, as well as both new and old faces returning or joining the survival game against the infected. The teaser ends with the main cast cornered above a historical Joseon-era rooftop, serving as the leeway to Kingdom season 2’s main poster setting.
Set in historical Joseon, Kingdom centers on a crown prince that isinvestigating a plague that has been devastating his country. What he soon finds is a zombie epidemic is on the rise. Giving off Train to Busan vibes, Kingdom is looking to please worldwide fans of the genre. The popular Korean zombie historical drama left off on a major cliffhanger, as the king and those fighting against the zombies realized it’s not light that keeps them away, but rather heat.
All episodes of Kingdom season 2 will be released exclusively on Netflix March 13.
